Get Him to The Greek

Image
Before we begin I'd like to warn you that this movie is rated R for a reason. There is nudity, an uncomfortable amount of sex scenes and hard drugs. I have sort of mixed feelings about this film. The beginning is great. Its funny and easy to follow, but about three quarters through the movie I kind of lost interest. There was so much going on at the same time and I couldn't keep up with the plot anymore. Get Him to The Greek caught my eye because of the cover, Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, two hilarious actors. I watched the trailer and saw a few more familiar faces and thought it would be great. Aziz Ansari and Nick Kroll make a special appearance, but only for a short moment.  Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) is a talent scout at a record company. When his boss Sergio Roma (Sean Combs) demands the next big thing, Aaron suggests a rock concert starring Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). Aaron's job is to get Aldous to LA to perform at the Greek Theater, however Aldous is a derailed a

Knocked Up

Image
As you can probably tell from the title, this movie is not for children or young adults. There is nudity, inappropriate language, drug use and sex just to name a few reasons. However, it is on my list because it stars Seth Rogen. It also stars Katherine Heigl, you may know her from the hit drama Grey's Anatomy. A few other recognizable faces show up throughout the movie as well such as Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Ken Jeong, Craig Robinson, Steve Carrell, B.J Novak, Adam Scott and so many more awesome actors. (Those are the just the ones I recognize). I really enjoyed this movie because the story line is mostly accurate and believable. Other than the fact that if you call your one night stand and tell them you're pregnant, they probably aren't going to react the same way Seth Rogen's character (Ben Stone) did. The arguments, the hormones, the pregnancy, they're all just about to a T. At least it was for me, personally. Moving on from the reality of the movie, it's j

Day 2 - Crochet Collection

Image
After some well needed rest, it's time to pick up that crochet hook and try again. I've pulled out what I did yesterday and now I can start clean again. Now that I've done this over and over again, I don't think I'll be needing the instructional video quite as much as I did before.  Okay, after about 20 minutes, I realized I went wrong somewhere again. This time instead of pulling the whole thing apart, I pulled until it looked like it was a normal square again then worked on from there. I think I'm getting the swing of things now. Crochet is repetitive and follows a nice pattern, I'm beginning to be able to catch when I make a mistake and fix it immediately instead of continuing on without noticing something until it looks like a giant pile of knots again. And we have a partial victory everyone! After completing the video tutorial, I have decided to indeed make a blanket instead of a sweater. This blanket is still far more complex that anything else I'v

The Office

Image
The Office is one of my all time favorite TV shows ever. One of my very close friends introduced it to me a few years ago and I've been obsessed with it ever since. I am a proud member of many fan page groups on Facebook, and I've watched the whole series over a number of times. It's honestly my happy show. I will put it on just to listen to in the background like a podcast. This series may be inappropriate for some of the younger pre-teens and small children because of the jokes and language used sometimes. If you are not a fan of uncomfortable and cringy jokes, this show is probably not for you. One of the main characters, Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell) has the littlest amount of self awareness one could find in a person. Most of it may be ignorance, but personally I just find it funny.  The Office takes place in, you guessed it, an office. It's a small paper company office called Dunder Mifflin, with a receptionist Pam Beasley (Jenna Fischer), a sales team

TV Show and Movie Reviews

Image
At the current moment, I have far too much time on my hands. What do I do with most of that time? Binge watch all of my favorite shows and movies of course. I am no professional movie critic, but I can promise that my reviews will be one of a kind.  Most of the movies and shows that I watch come from two different streaming services: Peacock and Netflix . I get peacock premium free with my internet service provider (shoutout to Xfinity) and I won't disclose whose Netflix account I'm using. For the sake of the blog, we're going to say it's mine. I love all kinds of genres of movies, but my favorite has to be comedy. Anything with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, or Steve Carrell are my go to movie picks. As for TV shows, I am all about those dramas. I've watched Grey's Anatomy, One of us is Lying, Breaking Bad, you name it. You also can't forget the classic comedies such as The Office, Parks and Recreation and Brickleberry. Some of the shows and movies I review m

Day 1 - Crochet Collection

Image
Today marks Day 1 of attempting to crochet. Although I have picked up the crochet hook before and attempted to make a blanket, this is first whole hearted attempt to make something slightly more advanced.  Now since I have a hook and some yarn already, and I don't have the money for more supplies at the moment I think I'll start by doing some research about what I can make with the sizes I have now. I'm no expert by any means but I know that the size of the hook and yarn matters depending on what you are making. Okay, so, one google search later and I'm realizing this may be more difficult than I thought. There are so many different types of stitches. This is insane. The only thing I think I've done before is the single stitch, and I'm not even 100% sure if that's actually what I was doing.  I found something called a Granny Square sweater, it's supposed to be an oversize sweater with some sort of pattern (probably squares). Upon further inspection, it l
