The Office

The Office is one of my all time favorite TV shows ever. One of my very close friends introduced it to me a few years ago and I've been obsessed with it ever since. I am a proud member of many fan page groups on Facebook, and I've watched the whole series over a number of times. It's honestly my happy show. I will put it on just to listen to in the background like a podcast.

This series may be inappropriate for some of the younger pre-teens and small children because of the jokes and language used sometimes. If you are not a fan of uncomfortable and cringy jokes, this show is probably not for you. One of the main characters, Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell) has the littlest amount of self awareness one could find in a person. Most of it may be ignorance, but personally I just find it funny.

The Office takes place in, you guessed it, an office. It's a small paper company office called Dunder Mifflin, with a receptionist Pam Beasley (Jenna Fischer), a sales team that includes Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), Phyllis Lapin (Phyllis Smith) and Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker). The accounting department has Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), Oscar Martinez (Oscar Nunez) and Kevin Malone (Brian Baumgartner). Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) is the head of customer service, Toby Flenderson (Paul Leiberstein) in HR, Meredeth Palmer (Kate Flannery) (to be quite honest I'm not sure what she does) and head of quality assurance Creed Bratton (Creed Bratton). We can't forget about the temp, Ryan Howard (B.J Novak) either. These are just the characters in the actual everyday office. There's so much more to unpack in the warehouse, at corporate and in Michael's personal life, but I'm sure we'll get to that eventually.

One of the most comedic things that happens throughout the whole show is the love/hate relationship between Jim and Dwight. Dwight has an... intense personality that could get on just about anyone's nerves. Jim is constantly coming up with ideas for pranks on how to get back at him for this.

Despite all the fooling around and crude jokes, this show has some really impressive character development and a pretty heartwarming story line. There are affairs of all kinds, betrayals, engagements, and life threatening presentations. All in all it's just a superb show. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh at the end of a long and stressful day.

10/10 have and will watch again.

Keep an eye out for more Office updates, this will probably go on to be a page of its own. There is always more to talk about with this show, but this post is just for the basics of the beginning.
